Timeline contradictions — like a bill of lading dated before the invoice, or an inspection date after shipment — invite doubt about the authenticity of the documents.

9. Non-compliance with the letter of credit

Under an L/C, any discrepancy in the documents can be treated as a discrepancy by the bank and lead to refusal to pay.

10. No review before submission
